An additional two individuals are now in custody related to a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be pepper spray, as stated by law enforcement.
A 24-year-old man, was arrested in the Lambeth area on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, authorities confirmed.
The arrests come after a probe into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.
A toddler aged three was among the injured in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment and have since been released.
Officers arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.
Authorities were called at about 08:10 GMT following reports of a number of people injured by an irritating chemical believed to be pepper spray.
The assault - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered an act of terror - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
